Singapore Shufflers respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data entrusted to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Singapore Shufflers collects, uses, discloses, stores and protects personal data in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

Depending on how you interact with Singapore Shufflers, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, information submitted through a membership application or enquiry, running and training background, performances and personal bests, information about coaches or other training groups, participation in club activities and events, race results and sporting records, photographs or other media, correspondence with the club, and technical information reasonably required for the operation and security of the website.
We aim to collect only information that is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.
We may collect personal data when you apply to join Singapore Shufflers, contact us, participate in club training or events, submit race or performance information, provide photographs or other content, or otherwise provide information to the club. We may also obtain relevant sporting information from publicly available race results or other legitimate sources where appropriate.
We may collect, use and disclose personal data to assess and respond to membership applications; administer club membership; communicate with members and applicants; organise training, races and club activities; maintain appropriate participation records; maintain and publish club rankings, records, results, honours and historical information; verify performances; respond to enquiries; maintain the security and proper operation of our website and systems; comply with legal or regulatory requirements; resolve disputes or investigate suspected misuse; and for other purposes reasonably related to these activities where appropriate notification has been provided.
Where we wish to use personal data for a materially different purpose, we will provide appropriate notification and obtain consent where required.
Singapore Shufflers maintains historical sporting records relating to the club. These may include athlete name, gender or competition category, age category, race or event, performance or finishing time, race date and location, club ranking, club record and team honours. This information may be displayed publicly on the Singapore Shufflers website where appropriate for maintaining club sporting records and history. If you believe information displayed about you is incorrect, contact us so that we can review it.
Photographs or other media may be taken during Singapore Shufflers training sessions, races or other club activities. Where consent is required for a particular use, we will seek that consent separately. If you have concerns about a photograph or other media featuring you that has been published by Singapore Shufflers, please contact us.
Information submitted through the Singapore Shufflers membership application form is used primarily to assess whether the applicant is suitable for the club, understand the applicant's running and training background, communicate about the application, administer the membership process and maintain appropriate application records. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance into Singapore Shufflers. Access to application information is limited to people who reasonably require it for club administration.
Singapore Shufflers does not sell personal data. We may disclose personal data where reasonably necessary to authorised club administrators, service providers supporting our website, email, hosting or backups, event organisers or sporting bodies where required for participation or administration, professional advisers, law-enforcement or government authorities where required or permitted by law, or another party where you have consented to the disclosure. Where third-party service providers process personal data on our behalf, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
Some service providers used by Singapore Shufflers may process or store personal data outside Singapore. Where personal data is transferred outside Singapore, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the transferred data receives a standard of protection comparable to the protection required under the PDPA.

Information forming part of the club's legitimate historical sporting record, such as results, records and honours, may be retained for substantially longer than unsuccessful membership application information. When personal data is no longer required for a legitimate purpose, we take reasonable steps to delete it, anonymise it or otherwise cease retaining it where appropriate.
You may contact Singapore Shufflers to request access to personal data about you that is in our possession or under our control, or correction of personal data that you believe is inaccurate or incomplete. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request, and requests will be handled in accordance with the PDPA and applicable exceptions.

We will explain reasonably foreseeable consequences where appropriate. Withdrawal does not affect collection, use or disclosure permitted or required by law without consent, and in some circumstances may mean that we can no longer provide a service or administer participation in an activity.
Singapore Shufflers may use contact information provided by members or applicants for communications reasonably connected with membership, training, races, events, club administration and other club activities. Where separate consent is required for promotional or marketing communications, those communications will be handled in accordance with the applicable consent requirements. You may contact us if you no longer wish to receive optional communications.
The Singapore Shufflers website may use cookies or similar technologies necessary for the operation, security and functionality of the website. If analytics, advertising or other technologies are introduced that materially change the information collected through the website, this Privacy Policy and any necessary consent mechanisms will be updated accordingly.
